67% chance that God exists

A scientist has calculated that there is a 67% chance that God exists. Dr Stephen Unwin has used a 200-year-old formula to calculate the probability of the existence of an omnipotent being. Bayes' Theory is usually used to work out the likelihood of events, such as nuclear power failure, by balancing the various factors that could affect a situation.

Comments:
Yet another instance of reasoning from false premises, in my humble opinion.

probability only applies to things we are capable of understanding.

This is somewhat humorous in light of having read God's Debris on your suggestion...in which Scott Adams supposes that God's omnipotence is probability. Heh.

Ok ...

But then we still don't know WHICH God!!! The christian, the jewish, the muslim, or something entirely different :)

I would like to know the percentage odds of there being a man who would use a 200 year old formula to predict the percentage possibility of the existence of God when the formula is normally used to predict nuclear power failure.

That would be a much more interesting prediction.

This is even better than "metaphysical engineers".

So, I wonder if that number may actually be a little closer to 66.6%?

;)
